Hello, I'm Bart Pavlovich.

I have been lucky enough and have had the rewarding pleasure to have worked with some of the most brilliant creative and business people in the world in some of the best advertising agencies in the world.

My work experience includes some of the most famous and most prestigious international accounts in the world to some very creative and very interesting individualistic entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Having worked and lived around the world - London, Paris, Chicago, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland - I have broad experience across a wide range of products, services and businesses.

I have judged, and won, all the major National awards as well as many Cannes Lions and International awards, attended IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, (the Harvard of Europe), lectured at Sydney University and mentored students individually and in groups in London, Melbourne and Sydney.
Finding a way to tell 'the same old story' sounds simple and easy, but that is exactly how I like my work to connect - like anybody could have done it, like anybody could have said that.
The individual pieces of work shown below are part of an integrated media campaign including TV and cinema, video, social, electronic media, in-store, outdoor, print.
Thanks for being here. I hope you like the work.

Proud : This is me at twenty five. I am the most 'highly awarded' art director in the country when the best in the world worked here.

This Nissan Pathfinder full page advertisement is the first ever piece of advertising material, or commercial artwork, transmitted from the planet Mars to planet Earth (Melbourne actually).

On the fourth of July 1997 (Independence Day), as part of NASA's Discovery Program, The Pathfinder Rover (built by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California), landed on the planet and started sending images of the Martian surface back to Earth.

In a brilliant media coup, and by special arrangement, NASA transmitted the raw digital images directly to Nissan's advertising agency Whybin TBWA (Melbourne), as soon as they were processed.

Using one of these amazing and beautiful images as artwork - hence the first ad from Mars - this full page ran alongside the first photographs released worldwide of the mysterious red planet.

By now it was well after 1:30 pm and the entire creative department had gone off to Massoni's for lunch while I waited for Ron (Mather, creative director of Saatchi and Saatchi), who was still in the McCain meeting.

Suddenly, Ron appeared in the doorway and asked where everyone was saying he (we), need a slogan 'right now' or McCain will fire the agency 'right now' and handing me the brief, said he'd be back in ten minutes.

I wrote the slogan (in ten minutes to the ten point brief), the agency retained the business, and now today 'Ah McCain you've done it again' is one of perhaps ten or twenty (?) slogans we easily recall.

Weiss Fashion.
One day, John Nankervis (Magnus Nankervis Curl), rang Bani McSpedden (McSpedden Carey), and asked if we could handle the advertising for some friends of his - Adele and Peter Weiss who were currently in the garment manufacturing business

The Weiss's wanted to establish themselves as a retail 'fashion brand' but with just one small shop in Double Bay (Sydney), and a very modest budget the business was too small for John's agency.
A different strategy.
We decided that rather than take the usual route of a full page advertisement in Vogue (70,000 readers a month), we would run consecutively appearing small space ads in daily newspapers (500,000 readers each day), without showing a single frock.

Weiss Homewares.

The strategy was a resounding success catapulting Weiss Fashion to prominence - which opportunistically, we quickly advantaged with the creation of Weiss Homewares boutiques to equally great commercial success.

When this Metrolite (illuminated poster), was installed around Sydney's CBD people began stealing the posters.
Eventually, security guards had to be hired to 'guard' the posters because so many were being stolen and re-prints were becoming prohibitively expensive.

" I hope you liked the work. "
If you would like to talk or see more work, just send me a note to :

Every door in the creative department at J. Walter Thompson, London
had one of these gold stars on it.

When you were given an office, you were reminded of the brilliant
campaigns the previous occupants did.

One of my anti-Net Zero and anti-Wind Turbine social media posts.
Did you know that a two-megawatt wind turbine is made up of 260 tons of steel that requires 300
tons of iron ore and 170 tons of coking coal, all mined, all transported (by sea and road), and all produced
with hydrocarbons?

Or the fact that a wind turbine could spin until it falls apart and never generate as much energy as it
took to build it?

Or that wind turbines generate 'poor quality' electricity (yes there is such a thing), when compared
to Australia's brown coal which produces the highest quality electricity in the world - (just ask China).
Why would you replace a single beautiful tree - which every night turns carbon dioxide into oxygen,
for one of these very expensive and very ugly machines?

Not forgetting the horrible toll on our beautiful wildlife...
